Monthly UK visitors fell by 3 million after Musk bought Twitter

Elon Musk has lost almost three million UK visitors following its Twitter acquisition.

X brought its total adult monthly viewership to 24 million in May this year.

It was around 26.8 million at the same time last year and a decline in the popularity of Twitter is also being seen.

Separate data from Ipsos Iris shows it has fallen from 61 percent of adults in 2021 to 50 percent this year.

The trend has accelerated since Mr Musk's controversial $44bn (£35bn) acquisition just a year ago.

There has been a huge decline in quality after Musk fired more than 80 percent of the company's employees.

The new owner has faced criticism after he was seen endorsing an anti-Semitic post earlier this month.
