John Ridley disclosed his scrapped Marvel TV series was a unique take on The Eternals

John Ridley revealed that his shelved Marvel project from almost a decade ago was a TV version of The Eternals. 

Marvel's 2021 film "Eternals," directed by Chloé Zhao and featuring a star-studded cast, explored immortal beings protecting Earth from Deviants.

John Ridley, who won an Academy Award for "12 Years a Slave," described the pilot episode of his scrapped Eternals series, highlighting a unique and unsettling opening scene with a young man and a drill.

John Ridley acknowledged that his version of the Eternals was a challenging project and admitted it might not have been universally entertaining.

 He realized it was best that it didn't materialize with him, emphasizing the need for a more popular approach. During the development phase, 

Marvel Television was producing other shows, but with the integration of Marvel TV into Marvel Studios, several projects, including Ridley's Eternals series, were scrapped.
