The release date for the fifth installment in the MonsterVerse series, "Godzilla x Kong," has been rescheduled to March 29, moving ahead of its original date of April 12.
This adjustment is made to accommodate the delayed release of Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-Ho's film, "Mickey 17," which experienced post-strike production delays.
The absence of a trailer for "Mickey 17" is speculated to have contributed to the anticipated schedule change.
"Godzilla x Kong" continues the storyline from "Godzilla vs. Kong" (2021), delving into the mysteries of the Hollow Earth and revealing a Titan threat that necessitates an alliance between Godzilla and Kong.
Director Adam Wingard returns alongside cast members Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle.
The MonsterVerse franchise, encompassing "Godzilla" (2014), "Kong: Skull Island" (2017), and "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019), also features TV entries like "Skull Island" (2023) and "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" (2023).
"Mickey 17," adapted from Edward Ashton's novel, features Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie,
and Mark Ruffalo, portraying a man on a perilous mission to colonize a distant planet with a distinctive take on mortality and memory.
